The Lionians charge down from the hill.
The Gatling and the havelock regiment halt the Western flank attack.
The Guard defeat the attackers but is a continuing target from Lionian firing.

The Lionians again press forward, shooting as they move.
The Ruritanians have rallied after strategic withdrawal and the lancers charged and attacked on the Lionian flank (but not before another lancer regiment was destroyed)..
The remnants of the Lionians still block the road but their position is tenuous. Nevertheless the Ruritanians have failed to exit the field at the Southern end. The decimated Lionians have a costly victory, with even their commander dead.
