1/32 Fantasy Heroes, Dwarfs and Orks Complete

The stereotype has dwarfs/dwarves (both spellings acceptable) with bright red-orange hair; it looks good so I go with it. These are shorter than 'humans' (Warhammer, Lord of the Rings and other fantasy scenarios have dwarfs as a virtual separate species) but very bulky. My wargame rules for them will be close to Warhammer but they won't be quite as well armoured or capable in battle. But I am going to use the 'stubborn' characteristic with re-rolls allowed for leadership tests. They will also have shorter moves with those little legs. They will have melee bonuses when fighting in tunnels and caves. They will also be good at mining and counter mining in sieges. My special campaign additions will allow them to increase mine output if they are stationed in mining or mountainous hexes.
They can be chosen as a mercenary unit. I have decided that mercenaries can be upgraded to 'loyal' but only when a new campaign begins and they have already served loyally in one campaign. The player has to pay the extra points.

"Paladins' I'll use them as heroes. Some have new weapons from DSG.

This one came with the 'baddies' but she could just as easily serve the 'goodies'. With that magnificent cloak I am thinking of classing it as a 'semi-invisibility cloak' to give her an increased save from shooting. I might also add one of my 'familiars' to place on her shoulder. I am thinking 'water fairy' to allow her to cross bodies of water. She'd make a great assassin or treasure seeker. The armour will be classed the same as heavy infantry'.

Dig those shoulder pads on the skellie 'hero' - one for the land of Necrolia.

My Indian to goblin conversions with actual Indians in the background. And there is that great ork with crossbow-shield-combi.

I did a little more work on the heroine's (don't you love to use those gender words - lioness, actress, etc - it is supposed to be no longer PC but it now feels so good to do it - even more than before) face.

Well there you have it; they have been 'PVAed' and just await a spray of artists' fixative, If you do this after flocking figures it will also help to fix the flock, although it is fairly secure with the PVA. TIPS: Avoid breathing in flock or sprays - I'm pretty sure they aren't going to do your lungs a lot of good.  DON'T try to flock bases while PVA is still wet on the figures. And make sure you have tapped, blown, brushed all loose flock from figures before you spray any varnish or fixative. It is most disconcerting to get this far and to discover finished figures with flock or static grass hanging off noses and swords
