Ruritanian Scouting Expedition 1887 - Things Get Sticky Part 1

The Ruritanian force, led by the lancers marches down the road.

A Lionian roadblock lays ahead. The formidable Looloo tribe is on the left. Some goats gambol in a very unsafe place.
The lancers veer left. (They are not riding into a bottomless chasm as that apparent gap can be crossed).
The Ruritanian naval force reinforced by a Gatling gun. (Ruritanian naval uniforms are fairly much like those of other developed countries although there is a move to introduce a unique green shade).
The Lionian view from the South.
The Ruritanian Rifle regiment moves South.
Lionians appear on a hill in the East.

The Ruritanians confidently make up a firing line moving South.
Scouts inform the Ruritanians that another flanking force of Lionians is on the way. They prepare to repel attacks from both flanks.
Meanwhile the rest of the Lionian force arrives in the South.

Lionians from the Eastern moving Tootsie tribe overrun a Ruritanian cannon.
Ruritanian lancers and guard infantry take care of Lionians in the center.
The elite Looloos race through the forest towards the Rifle regiment supported by yellow Fanatics.
An impressive line of Lionians is a new threat and the lancers sustain casualties from firearms.
After sustaining casualties from a volley the Looloos crash into the Ruritanians.
Below this melee other Lionians attack the guard, which will defeat them but be seriously depleted. Behind them the Ruritanian commander and staff urges his men  to fight harder.
