The Wargame
The wargame of Duseldorf (not to be confused with Dusseldorf) was played in three hours using the Funny Little Wars rules with matchstick firing cannons. With a potential destruction radius of six inches just for light cannons it pays to keep troops inopen formation when possible.
Each side began with three units of the commander's choice. (The choice of cannon calibre was up to the commander). After that units arrived as they were rolled for. The Crussians had approximately 160 men and the Hermans had approximately 140. Two of the Crussian units, however, were militia.
At the end of the game, units that had survived could return for the next battle with 1/3 of casualties returned as recovered from their wounds. Another game will be played in the not to distant future.
