Herman infantry advance from Ivansky towards Petersville.

The town of Refievsky and the Crussian railway.

Ivansky, prior to the Herman occupation. An eccentric, extremely wealthy Crussian aristocrat, Count Loonsky, once had commisioned immense sculptures, and apparently pointless, massive solitary columns.

The Crusky mine.

The view from the Lubanya Plateau. Crussian cavalry sweep over the plateau to deny a sweep of territory to the Hermans. Crussian infantry will soon follow.

Crussian cossacks discover the Herman infantry force.
Crussian militia, aided by engineers, build scrapes in front of the Kavernsky Mine and prepare for approaching Hermans.

Herman infantry advance.

To the right cossacks charge Von Fleet's lancers, who counter attack. To the left the Balkan lancers, the Snookum Ookum lancer/hussars wipe out a Herman horse artillery piece.

Scouting cossacks continue to join the rest of the Crussian cavalry to checkmate the intercepting Herman cavalry, seen here on the far side of the train.

Ruritanian lancers charge the Crussian horse machine gun and wipe out the crew. However, they are in turn charged by the 15th Hussars, an elite unit, known for its flashy orange uniforms. In their disorganised state the brave Ruritanians were wiped out.

After destroying the Ruritanian lancers the 15th Crussian Hussars receives casualties from machine gun fire and seeks shelter behind the village of Refievsky.

Supply wagons set out from Ivansky to reinforce the advancing Hermans.  Some of the Crussian aristocrat's immense eccentric monuments and sculptures can be seen in the foregrouns and background. Apparently he had a penchant for giant knomes fish ponds, water fountains and strangely realistic giant feet.

The second photo shows the brigade leader's staff car.

Crussian ammunition and food supply wagons begin their long journey from Petersville. Fortunately for them the snow is almost completely gone but the patches of mud may create impediment. The longest journey will be over the Lubansky plateau.
