Crussia Liberated

                                          The view from the Herman lines.
The town of Catherine is swamped by the Crussian cavalry and a light artillery piece has moved behind one of the buildings. The remnants of Von Fleet's lancers can be seen to the left. The Herman cavalry commander is in danger of being cut off by the cossacks who commence firing their carbines. At extreme left is the isolated Herman machine gun.
Crussian militia have, with the assistance of pioneers, made scrapings for cover. Their orders are to defend the mine and fire at any Hermans coming through the valley.

The Herman heavy cannon managed a glancing shot on its opposite number's but only put it out of action for an additional move.
The Crussian rifle regiment, elite officer's regiment, regular infantry and militia advance towards the train.


The Crussian general and brigade staff follow with their staff cars and body guard.
Herman militia (left) and regular infantry cautiously advance towards the valley and the mine but stop to dig scrapings.
They have also made shallow entrenchments previously, closer to Ivansky.
The Hermans suffer a direct hit from the enemy's heavy cannon. The decimated militia flee. At extreme right can be seen the pioneer's wagon.
