Lost Land Game Mechanics
My daughter is not a regular wargamer; in fact I was surprised that she asked me to set up this one. She has just gone on a week school excursion so the game is on hold at the point where the skeletons emerge from the pyramid.
The game rules were very loosely based on Warhammer but in a skirmish style with my own creature creations added in. The Vikings are similar to Empire swordsmen. There are a few varieties of Vikings, those with 'great weapons' - two handed axes, swords and clubs. They have plus two on strength but go last in combat. There are also regular ones with shields and swords or one handed axes. There are beserkers who also have a bonus on strength but may attack without directions! Then there are three leaders including lord Hagar, Sonya and Princess Alexandra who have bonuses on initiative and weapon skill.
The rolls for initiative, to hit, to wound and to save work well with various creatures as it calculates various advantages and weaknesses.
