First moves of the War of the three Armies

The Undead under Lord Feldead have crossed the frontiers to face both Empire and Eastern Armies. Fighting has broken out but so far the forces of Empire have kept the undead at bay. A cannon ball ploughed into the ranks of skeletons 'killing' two. A newly recruited giant and Viking columns are marching on the undead flank. It is hoped that the undead can be smashed before reinforcements arrive.

A small force of Easterners have also threatened the Imperial frontier and have received a hail of arrows for their trouble. Eight Eastern fanatics lay dead, felled by Viking archer auxiliaries. A small force of Amazons has also allied with the Easterners.
Empire allied elves have launched a flank assault on a skeleton column and are winning so far but the rattle of bones can be heard over the hill as more skeletons approach.
Imperial wizard spells have been so far ineffectual with one wizard mistakenly attempting an enhancement spell on a  unit of centaurs who are actually allied to the Dark Lord.

Meanwhile a pitched battle has begun as ork Big Uns and a goblin fanatic plough into the light mounted archers. The archers defensive volley had been largely ineffectual.

Above and below: Fezian forces advance into a cloud of Viking arrows.

Above: Imperial forces prepare a hot reception for any aggressor.
Above: Centaurs advance on Vikings and knights.
Above: The Empire giant is keen to smash some skeletons and centaurs.
Above: Elves attack the skeleton column.
Above: Vikings perform march moves towards the undead flank.
Eastern forces face an Ork attack.
Above and below: Eastern Fezian forces gather.

The Fezian wizard uttered the words of an augmentation spell to increase the power of the Amazon warriors as they prepared to climb the cliff and attack the Viking archers. The Imperial wizard accompanying the archers easily dispelled the spell.

Strangely, the undead stopped in their tracks. The Vampire lord, usually impervious to the bites of small creatures had been bitten by an enchanted spider, causing him acute discomfort. (Actually Ryan, the undead player had an allergic reaction to an insect or spider bite and could not continue the game. It has been left set up until next weekend).
