Bogavanian Recruitment Continues

Rumours of a new war abound in the lands of Bogavania and Beerstein. Consequently, recruitment for both sides has been boosted. In the first pictures can be seen Bogavanians in full chain-mail and sporting the 'Sacred Mushroom' on the shields. Of course, any student of Bogavanian culture and history knows the key role of said mushrooms in the religion and history of the country. In particular, the mushroom is central to the church communions, as contrasted with the Beersteiners, who, of course, employ beer for the same purpose. The story of the Maid of Bogavania is also closely tied to this sacred symbol. Quite apart from the usual border disputes this doctrinal difference has created hatred and has inspired the Beersteiners to organize crusades against their neighbors.

            Seen below, at left, is a new recruit to the Duke of Heart's feudal army. In the middle is the knight adventurer, Harry Halberd. At right is a bowman, obviously a cross bowman as he has lost his weapon and most likely will be given service on a siege weapon.

 Below can be seen newly equipped Bogavanian militia. Although lacking full chain-mail they are well equipped with mail jerkin , helmet and large shield, again displaying the increasingly common Bogavanian symbol.
