Leonardo Di Caprio Helps Bogavania.
The Third Bogavanian campaign has just ended with a large loss of territory and a mine taken over by Beerstein in the North. Bogavania, however has captured some Beersteiner territory in the South isolating its castle in the South.
Some other developments may even the score a little. The Great inventor, Leonardo Di Caprio has only narrowly avoided the long army of the Beerstein Inquisition. Whilst the Bogavanian church is not exactly a bastion of liberalism the Beersteiner zeal for burning heretics knows few limits. Any scientist who suggests that the Sun does not revolve around the Earth or that a multitude of angels probably don't dance around in the eyes of needles is destined for a very nasty barbecue. Leonardo has been recently given refuge in Bogavania and in his gratitude he has shared his latest military discovery - matchlock muskets. These are an improvement on the old 'hand cannons' liable to blow up in the users faces. The new firearms are more accurate and slightly longer ranged, although still not a match for the longbow. Unlike the longbow, though, they require much less practice and skill to use. Forty of the new weapons have been offered to the Bogavanian king. Leonaardo has been funded by Bogavanian merchants fearful of further Beerstein acquisition of Bogavanian land.
Also, to Beerstein's disadvantage are the movements of a new enemy. Fezia has successfully defeated the rising of its Azteca province and is now turning its attentions to the West. Indeed, some of the Aztecs have been conscripted into the Fezian army as part of its annual tribute. Rumour has it that Fezia will attempt to seize land in Beerstein's East.
The results of these events will be seen after the end of the approaching Winter when campaigning will again be possible.
