Warhammer 40k Between Mat's Chaos Army And My Orks.
'Ere we go lads. We love a good scrap and those smarmy Chaos rubbish are gonna get theirs today'.
Snikrot's words were prophetic, but unfortunately he would not live to see them come true as he also 'got his'.
The table
Chaos forces
Toxic cactus chemical dump
Chaos advances from a deployment zone.
Ork bikers come under fire from the Defiler.
Orks advance, using the pyramid for cover.
Big Mek takes aim at the Defiler with his shokk attack gun.
Chaos spawn beastie; 'Fetch the ork. Good boy'
Chaos advances.
Ork bikers assault.
Ork rokkit buggies take out the Dreadnaught but the Plague marines, depleted but triumphant, repel the commandos compelling them to retreat off the table. The marines then attack the buggies, but escape to later destroy a Chaos transport, the Rhino..
After doing some successful tank hunting against the Crusader the small unit of Storm Boyz take on some Chaos bad asses ..and win.
The Chaos spawn joins the melee with the ork bikers . its bark was worse than its bike but it began to turn the tide. The entry of the Chaos leader finally defeated the bikers.
Rampaging Defiler causes havoc until finally brought down by Loota Boyz.
Attack on the lizard.
The lizard is swamped.
A hard boy unit poses on the captured spaceship.
Shoota boyz gloat after helping to kill the lizard. (The RSPCA does not operate in this segment of the universe).
Grots were ideal for exploring pyramids but they found nothing.
The remaining storm boy with an artifact from the temple behind him. It looks like kryptonite!
Ard Boyz get an artifact from the temple and then emerge to fire at the lizard.
The desert planet of Tabooshk had once been covered in tropical forest but some unspecified disaster had dried out the seas and vegetation to small patches here and there. The reptilian civilization appeared to have disappeared but their ruins were still there, with rumored treasures within.
Two races alien to the planet had arrived in teams to seek loot and they did not want to share. The Chaos warriors sought trophies for their Chaos gods and the orks looked for anything they could tack on to their ramshackle machines.
SETUP
Four dice were placed at board edges and two in the center. Each had a different number facing upwards. Mat and I threw for initiative, and he won so rolled again to see where he placed his first units of one of three forces. There was no restriction on numbers of units so long as they were part of the 1500 points allotted and that there was at least one unit on each of the three starting positions. In this game there would be no line breaker points as there was no line. Mat's forces were located mostly along the Eastern side of the table whilst mine were on the Western and Northern side, located near and on a pyramid. I had two reserves that arrived on fourth turn on the Southern table edge; these were five rokkit buggies and twelve commandos under Snikrot who enabled them to locate on any board edge.
Each building could house an artefact worth 15 points, determined by a roll of 5-6. Chaos discovered one early but the orks searched a pyramid, temple and two houses in vain before finally hitting jackpot in the two central temples. The orks also swamped the big lizard guarding the spaceship wreck and obtained the ten points for this objective.
The game went for ten moves plus one random extra move. The results were orks as victors with three objectives and first blood versus Chaos which had 'kill the warlord' and one objective. We each killed around five units. Mat's huge alker, the Defiler menaced my flank, destroying a Big Mek with Shokk Attack gun and two Big Guns but was brought down by massed fire from 15 looters with Deff Guns.
