The Ramparts Breached - Bogavanians in Citadel Fight For Their Lives
The capital of Bogavania continues to be under siege. The Beersteiner artillery continued to bombard the North wall. As pieces of the wall fell the Bogavanian archers withdrew to await the Beersteiners. However, the Bogavanian's remaining manned gun managed a direct hit (again) and destroyed another cannon. This was followed by a mi-fire which destroyed another Beersteiner cannon. Three Beersteiner guns remained. But not all went the Bogavanians way as the advancing Beersteiner bowmen peppered the Bogavanian gunners with arrows, wiping them out. The Mongols also took part, as they did their usual trick and rode along the Western side of the river and shot at the Western tower, with its gun, that is until Bogavanian archers on the Western wall emptied many saddles, causing them to retreat.
Meanwhile the industrious dwarfs constructed the siege tower in record time and pushed it, ever so slowly but relentlessly towards the wall.
On both sides of the castle the Bogavanians employed archers, Hillmen and medium knights. As Beerrseiners moved forward to meet them they were caught in a cross fire from the Eastern wall and the bowmen in the open. The Beersteiner mounted knights charged the enemy Hillmen, finally destroying them, after heavy casualties. Then they had to deal with medium knights and a Bogavanian hero knight who killed the last of them. A unit of great Swords, after initial success on the Easrern side of the wall finally fled with massive casualties. A unit of Beersteiner archers there also fled but two more units of longbowmen were moving to replace them. On the Western side another unit of Beersteiner archers traded shots with Bogavanian archers.
Finally the siege tower was in place and a unit of Great Swords led by the master swordsman and Beersteiner hero, Lord Timme, who attacked the archers on the eastern wall, easily carving a path through them. Bogavanian archers on the Western wall turned to shoot at the intruders with some small success but the Great Swords had the Northern wall.
