Paraguayans In The War Of The Tripple Alliance

I have added to my existing handful of Paraguayans and now have thirty three infantry. Most of them are BMC with some other brands thrown in. There is no officer although there is a sergeant with a pistol. Officers wore dark blue jackets and kepis and white trousers.

The main alteration to the ACW figures was the cutting down of boots to represent bare feet. Some figures were given shakoes. The shakoes have the national flag colours at the base and also on a symbol at the front.

The beauty of this uniform with blue kepi is that it can also serve for the Mexican Adventure as Juaristas although they are usually shown with white havelocks.

The outnumbered figures here in havelocks are Argentinian National Guardsmen in uniforms very like early war Confederates. The havelocks were added from putty.
