Crusso-Amerigan Campaign Concluded. Complete New Conversions Included.
Mat and I recently played our third game of Crussia invades Ameriga. Of course it is based on the premise of a parallel universe based on Russian colonies on the American West coast (which existed historically until sold to the US).
We used my one page ACW rules with the battles vaguely set in the 1870s. We used some of Paul Wright's special army rules which, this time did not go well for the Crussians (Army Dark Green). Mat's Crussians got no special movement bonus, instead rolling for normal morale. he did have a priest and teo staff officers to bolster morale of designated regiments. Alas for Mat he rolled a one to have his army attacked by a lone anarchist gunman! He had fired his pistol at the officers' regiment (in black and actually based on a Russian civil war regiment). His outraged general then attacked the anarchist only to be shot! This was towards the end of the game and the Crussians were already on the back foot but we decided his army could continue but without change of orders.
The Army Red, White and Blue (Amerigans) fared better with their special rule as each regiment was diced for to see if it was veteran, militia/raw or average. Mat had an average balanced distribution of troop types but the Amerigans ended up with less raw troops and more veterans.
At the end of the twelve moves the Crussians were defeated, despite a valiant and strong attack (without the massive cavalry charge, this time). The Amerigans won the battle and the campaign, (two games out of three) campaign.
Recent officer conversion. In the background is a converted road worker with shovel.
New artillery limbers. One has Britains draft horses whist the other has Chinese or HK copies of Britains limber and wagon horses. The riders are ACW conversions with seated cowboy conversions.
Part of the Crussian army.
The Amerigans
New conversion at left and old at right. Both are made from the Lone Star ACW officer with the one ar right with new head and DSG sword.
