The Orcs Strike Back

Mat and I are playing a rematch but with switching sides; this time I am the Bogavanians.

The two huge Ork army beasts got into combat early and quickly pushed off the battlefield a regiment of knights and one of musketeers! Mat's spiders got into combat after running through a forest but they were seen off fairly easily.

Other unts had to deal with the squiggoth and Big Tooth but it took many turns before they were finally killed after losing their riders. The suiggoth fought to the death, defending its fallen master and the Big Tooth went on the rampage brought on by its grief..

Meanwhile the Bogavanians let their Left flank go and gradually withdrew from there to enforce the centre. A lone musketeer unit was left to hold up the enemy and managed to destroy a unit of mutants. The orks and trolls bickered or did stupid things instead of advancing but eventually advanced.

My mounted knights charged and wiped out the Black Orks but was in turn attacked in the flank and sent packing by a large mutant unit.

Meanwhile, after failing numerous animosity and stupidity tests the trolls, mutants and orcs overwhelmed the heroic musketeers on the Bogavanian left flank.
But in the centre the Bogavanian knights were pushing back the orc forces. The pikes were pushed back by orcs but actually pushed back into orc territory, aiding the claiming of table quarters by the Bogavanians.


A goblin attack on the Bogavanian Right flank was destroyed by the musketeers who clubbed them to death.

At the end the fortunes had reversed and the orcs were outnumbered and the trolls were hesitant to advance against musketry but managed to dispute a table quarter.

                                           The Big Tooth pushes the knights off the board.

                                            Musketeers put hot lead into the giant arachnids.

 But the creatures close and the musketeers club the beasts with their musket buts, pushing the diabolical creatures back. Some of the musketeers fall before poisoned fangs.

       As the Big Tooth pushes off the knights the squiggoth pushes off  a regiment of musketeers.

 Bogavanian pike charge the squiggoth and slug it our for a number of moves before finally slaying it.

                           The Big Tooth runs wild after the death of its rider and turns on the Fezian allied musketeers and keeps them occupied for a number of turns before they slay it.

                              The giant attacks the pikemen but receives a rock on his head from his own side's catapults (thqt are notoriously erratic). He throws a musketeer as a missile at his fellows and chucks another in his tucker bag. Eventually the pikes find their mark and their comrade is freed.

              Knights charge slaughters the orcs befire they are in turn driven off by a mutant horde.

    Musket lines form to intercept trolls who decide to shelter behind the fallen squiggoth but their size still makes them targets.

                            Pikes are driven into the orc land. but knights are on the way.
