SETUP
Mat chose to be the Hermans. I commanded Blusians. The game was played on two tables in two connected rooms. It was possible for forces to move between tables after a three move delay but this did not occur.Mat made his city on the rumpus room table heavily defended but his forces were less strong on the other garage table. Victory conditions were based on having table quarters and an extra light house section plus capturing the plane and destroying units. The reverse was true of my set up with more forces on the garage table.
CONCLUSION
The steam tanks dominated but were vulnerable to cannon fire. Eventually all were destroyed. However, on the rumpus room (Herman city) table the infantry spent most of the time trying to hide! They were more active on the other table. Mat's cavalry put a big gun and Gatling out of action early in the game but at the cost of the loss of two lancer regiments. My cavalry were in reserve and were involved in cleaning up operations at the end.
At the end, after 15 moves, Mat owned his city table although I still claimed a quarter with a toehold of infantry. Damage inflicted on Mats' forces there was relatively small. On the garage table Mat had very little left and I was in control. Mat had also lost his commander on that field. After adding up points (one for each section of land occupied by infantry or cavalry, one point for each enemy unit destroyed and one point for controlling the plane Blusia was declared the victor.
