Blue Box Cowboys And Indian And Conversions
This is not the complete collection of my Blue Box Western figures but a sample. They are nicely sculpted figures which is why I painted them.
The cowboys appear to have Henry rifles. The Indian was a quick and basic paint job for a wargame when I needed it in a hurry.
Here is a conversion into a Turkish 1870s irregular. It is a metal casting made from the conversion. Given a fur hat instead he could be a dismounted regular cavalryman of the 1870s war with Russia. The cowboy has a Henry and the Turk has a Winchester. Winchesters were rejected by the US military either because they were considered under powered or because it was thought men would 'waste' too many bullets. The Sioux didn't have such reservations when they used them at Little Big Horn. The Turkish cavalry were also issued with them.
