Cheapo Modern Infantry
These figures have been cloned so many times some people have not even seen the originals. Here are some of the poses I placed with a cheapo tank (Bradley?) Although they are all made in China the originals are a lot different to the eventual copies that are flattened and lack detail.
Nevertheless some people do convert and paint the descendants of these and use the lack of detail to advantage in conversions where the modern equipment is not wanted. Personally, having see the originals painting the cloned descendants is not, for me, a priority.
The figures can be used for more than one nationality but the differences between national uniforms are often not huge. As in the 19th century when other nations copied first France and then Prussia as successful land powers, many nations, especially since the end of WW2 have copied American uniforms. Ironically this includes communist China, although they also have some crazy blue camo uniforms. The eventual change in helmet ironically, took a profile more like the WW2 German ones. The requirements for head protection when placed in a computer, came up with a similar design.
Obviously, the uniforms can be painted in the desert scheme or the temperate green pattern.
I like that many of the soldiers are in a more casual walking pose as they are not gong to be in fire fights non stop.
