OUTLINE OF THE BATTLE

Our second game went slightly differently. Apart from mat having another regiment and how we left out the amphibious threat Mat rolled for his volunteers either regular or elite status - no  militia status,

However, he was boxed in again and barely got to deploy his artillery. The Ozzz forces were also delayed in positioning its cannons on the hill but finally got some shots off, halting the Amerigan advance on Zoraster's position. Even so his fire power was evident and cut great swathes in the Ozzz forces. The attack on his left flank failed and he made more progress on his right flank.

Then the Ozzz troops made inroads with skeleton and Winkie regiment pushing forward in the centre and the giant, rampaging first over the Amerigan machine gunners and then pushing a whole regiment of infantry back into the portal, Glinda also used a transport spell to send another unit back where it came from.

Then the fickle nature of magic manifested itself;  Evora, so lucky with mis-spells last battle this time rolled a 20 on the mis-spell table and her head exploded in a mess of pins and needles! Her army then had to roll on a table for the result which was no further advance. The skeletons and Winkie Guard milled around, dropping from Amerigan bullets. The giant was confused and strangely vulnerable.

Then Teddy Roosevelt saw his chance for glory. Some had advised him to leave the horses home but he refused. What kind of cavalry don't take their horses?  He had trained his volunteers well and most of them were cowboys, natural horsemen. CHARGE he yelled as he waved his sword and in they went hacking and stabbing at the brutes legs. It fell and the ground vibrated with the impact. Luckily it had not fallen back on the volunteers. Teddy, who in the impact, had fallen from his horse raced forward and climbed the prone giant. He pointed his revolver at its heart and emptied six bullets into its heart. From that day forward the toy giants children cuddle at night are known as 'Teddies'.

Not content with that victory Teddy organised his men and prepared to attack more Ozzzralites. In the meantime another disaster for Ozzz had happened for the much loved wizard would forever be cloaked in infamy. On hearing of Evora's death he lost his nerve and ordered a dull scale retreat for his men. The Ozzzralites had thus lost about half their force!. The American regular cavalry and some elite class volunteer infantry advanced to claim ground to their right. The infantry exchanged fire with some of Glinda's grenadiers that had rushed to that flank to take the place of the Munchkins. The grenadiers lost men but they stood their ground and gave better than they received,

Meanwhile on the other side of the field  the Amerigan infantry turned after having destroyed a skeleton regiment and fired at Arella's newly raised skeletons, wiping them out. Then they shot into Arella's dwarf regiment and wounded her twice, Still she kept hurling bolts at the enemy. Glinda steadied her infantry and strengthened their aim as they fired into the enemy infantry that were behind a screen of trees, There were many casualties on both sides.

Then Rooselvelt spied the enemy screen of skirmishers on the road. Glinda strengthened the light infantry's aim as they fired at their attackers. It was not enough as the remnant of the Roosevelt regiment struck home killing a number of them and then causing them to retreat towards the forest, just as the Winkie Guard had done.

Meanwhile Glinda was starting t feel imperiled with enemy cavalry on her flank so she sent a Confusion spell to halve there movement. Meanwhile the line infantry regained their gumption, turned and took position behind a tree line where they shot at the Rough Riders. It was too much even for them and they retreated.

Arella and her dwarf regiment so diminished, had also retreated but under the example of Glinda they about turned at the crossroads. The Winkie cannon crew, till now unused, moved to join Arella's gun crew and thus formed a two gun battery which poured shells into the enemy, joined by Arella's firey projectiles.

Then the Amerigans began to break right along the front. Only the regular cavalry and general staff plus a lone artilleryman who could no longer operate the dynamite gun stood their ground. The Ozzzralites had won again.

TEDDY ROOSEVELT REMEMBERS

Well I had always wanted adventure, That's why I went out West, well that and to lose my asthma. But this was like no war I ever heard of. Just when I thought our boys had things licked some great giant turns up and some kind of jinx kept being put on us by those danged witches. Salem had the right idea!

I really don't know how we got our horses to cooperate but we charged that son of a gun and beat him! Of course, it was me with my Colt revolver who finished the monster.

Then we attacked those light infantry in their fancy green, yellow and blue Napoleonic type uniforms. We scattered them and scattered a few brains with our sabres and revolvers. Then we got stuck! We could hardly move because of some dang hex. The rifle regiment came back and shot into us, It was all too much for all of us and we retreated; we had to or we would all be dead. We did our best and retreated to come back and fight another day. But our army was beat alright.

CONCLUSION
well I think my suspicions were correct and the scenario too  much favoured the Ozzzralites but we will play it one more time with the original parameters  but this time Mat will command Ozzz. That will occur most likely next Monday then after that the Medieval-Renaissance army will have a shot but on more favourable terms
