The forces of the Undead assemble to meet an invasion of Necrolia from the lands of Chaos.

Below: Yrral, the Foul, High Sorcerer of Necrolia,  conjures a fog. His magic crystal eyes sparkle through the miasma but his rotting stench betrays his presence.

A giant skeleton bat hovers above his vampire master.
High Vampire Count Draclunis flies his magic dragon standard
Even the spirits have been summoned.

 NOTES ON SOME RULES

Mat and I have a game lined up for tomorrow - Undead versus Chaos. We are going to fall back on more of the Warhammer rules this time as there will be a variety of strengths and abilities among the creatures. But we will also retain some of our usual rules.

I have yet to play a game with ethereal figures. The Warhammer rules state that wounds can be inflicted on them only with magic weapons. However, they can still lose combat without facing magic weapons. This is because an opposing unit could get points from rank bonuses, flank and rear attack and possession of a standard. If the points exceed the spirits' wounds inflicted on the enemy they lose figures equal to the number of points the enemy unit has in excess enemy wounds.

FIGURES
The skeleton sorcerer was completed recently. It is a metal figure about 70mm. I don't know the brand. I had difficulty getting the hand with scepter to stay in place so I cut off the arm and reattached it so the scepter could be glued to some stones as well as the arm. I also inserted some self-adhesive gems into his eyes but used some Super glue to fix them.

The vampire lord is a conversion of a figure's torso from a Hercules set glued to a lower section from a knight. The flag has an emblem from a child's temporary tattoo.

The flying bat is a Halloween bat.

The ghosts holding heads are from Monster in My Pocket (worth quite a lot now as collectibles!) The others recent monster and zombie set figures. I like the running zombie with teddy! I cut the teddies off most of them.
