The Best Laid Plans Of Beersteiners Lay In Pieces As New Threats Loom.

After studying my map I had an excellent invasion plan ready to neutralize Bogavania and Fezia. My armies were a little stronger than Mat's, due to the battlefield successes and territory acquisitions last campaign.

Then it was time to roll the dice to see if there was any chance of an invasion by a third power. So what should happen? Fritzerland has declared war on Beerstein and Patra has begun crossing the Fezian border!

Whilst the latter is good news the unexpected actions of Fritzerland has enraged King James! He thought he had an understanding with King Palmrad. The latter claims that King James' Southern garrisoned soldiers have repeatedly crossed the border and run off, back to Beerstein with Fritz women, including the daughters and wives of Fritz nobles. King James says this claim is scurrilous.

THE ARMIES

Fezia has fought the Patrans before. For hundreds of years Patra was cut off from the world by The Green Fog. When this toxic miasma mysteriously lifted Fezia invaded. The Patrans are an ancient society, a combination of Egyptians, Greeks and Romans. They are disadvantaged by lack of gun powder, although they do have some access to Greek Fire.

Fritzerland is similar to Bogavania and Beerstein with the difference that they have more access to pike units. Most likely I'll use Bogavanian units to stand in for them but I intend to make some unique units for them also.

MAPS

Mat and I rolled dice to determine the size of the third party countries and they are less than half the size of our own. The problem we will have is we have already made our positions on our maps and will need to move vast numbers of troops to our Southern borders with these upstart kingdoms.

It also means I have to extend our map to include the whole of Fritzerland and Patra.

In theory Beerstein and Bogavania and Fezia have made a truce while they deal with the third party threats. However, if one of us defeats the upstart enemies he might well turn his attention to his traditional enemy.
