95th Rifles
The first 95th Rifles figure I owned was the Airfix 54mm Collcetors Kit. I always thought it was a cool uniform.

NOTE ON STATIC GRASS
I use a few different styles in basing figures. One of my more common is to cover card bases in PVA and cover in sand and sawdust, tea leaves and gravel. When dry I paint them sand colored and then give a brown wash. When that is dry, I add some PVA and cover it in a mix of green flock. Depending on the terrain I want to replicate determines how much flock I add.
The flock can be added before using a clear spray overcoat or after. The advantages of the former is the spray helps to fix the flock in place. the disadvantage is that if all the loose bits are not removed, they can stick all over the figures. They need to be given a good taping to knock off loose bits before spraying. I now also use the vacuum cleaner to also suck up all the loose bits before spraying. The advantage of adding the flock after spraying is this eliminates the problem just mentioned but it is more likely to shed from th figure if held only by the PVA.
Very nice figures!
ReplyDeleteI've always liked their green uniforms which must have been some early kind of 'camouflage'?
I guess you've seen all episodes of Sharpe's too?
Roger (with similar log-on problems like you)
Thanks. The Rifle green color was widely copied, by various nations, for skirmishing troops with rifled firearms.
