Station Master or Sea Captain?

I have an original Britains station master minus arm so decided to make a resin copy. I didn't know the position of his original left arm so just placed a random spare. he could be reaching for a steering wheel.

Later I saw a complete original and he has a clipboard or papers held next to his body. I might aim for that in the next casting.

Anyhow, unlike the original color (not present on my paint denuded original) which was black I painted this one's clothes dark blue.

The next one I do will be painted like the original, in black and can, indeed be a station master.

Suggestions for other uses and uniform details are welcome. I think some Victorian military officers had a similar uniform with the funny little cap.

  1. He looks like a naval officer. His uniform can resemble police uniforms used in Norway 19th/early 20th century too.

    1. Maybe zookeepers wore that style cap too before switching to the ones with more rounded, overlapping crowns.
I think there were British military officers who also wore this style, such as in the Zulu War?
