This is a very nice model and vignette, and pets are often part of soldiers life. One place I served there was a cat which daily visited the guards at the gate for food and sleep. I suspect it belonged to some neighbours living outside the camp, but nevertheless it came visiting us regularly.
ReplyDeleteWhen I served abroad some saved a dog during a mission, and the dog was brought back to camp. This wasn't any service dog, and was a Battalion pet. It was later brought to Norway.
The animal figures add atmosphere. I am entering a more whimsical toy soldier section of my hobby. Not everything is about fighting. Also, of course, I have entered the toy soldier lands of Fantasy and Imagi-nations.
ReplyDeleteThose cats are too big for the scale, but I have some smaller ones around somewhere. Quite a few years ago I had a mold of the cats made by a friend. That green one looks kind of cool in green so I won't paint it!
