Hilco Federal Infantry Re-painted.

I bit the bullet and nearly completely repainted my unit of Hilco marching Union ACW. Only some of the flesh color and the blue of the jackets remained after I repainted.

Some figures also lacked arms and I added some cast ones. For one of the figures I gave a bugle arm.

The figure at front far left looks like he was something else than ACW, probably converted from a US Marine. However, his cap still did not look right so I reshaped it with Green Stuff. The figure directly behind it also seems to have been a conversion by the last owner. it got the same treatment to the cap and a haversack and canteen added. These two figures are in the wrong poses to go with the rest but at least they are in step.

Here they have a furled American flag. I'll do other figures with alternate flags for other nations. I planned to initially use them as Blusians/French.
I need to convert some marching figures to make sure the unit is at its full regimental strength of 24 figures as it is only 21 at present.
I am glad I painted the red over the light blue trousers and dark blue kepi. They now stand ready to fight as ACW, South Americans, Blusians and so on. The paint style I called 'enhanced traditional'. I could have blended the rosy cheeks but painted them this way deliberately. However, the dots for eyes don't always do it for me.
