Sharpshooter in the jungle
A Nuevo Rican sharpshooter, Joseph Adams lay hidden many hours, eaten alive by swarms of tropical insects. He trained his rifle on the Bordurian pilot, Freidrich Muuncher, as he ran to his plane, "Fat Boy'. Just as the sharpshooter was about to pull the trigger a deadly tarnada snake crawled across his arm. By the time he had regained his composure (and stayed very still) the pilot was in his plane and taking off.
The sniper looked for new officer targets among a departing column of Bordurians and San Theodorans. The jungle growth obscured his sight and he was unsuccessful.
