Camerone in 54mm
The following photos are of my Camerone game in 54mm. Brands of figures include Timpo, Marx repro, Accurate and Britains Detail. The Mexican lancers are made from Timpo tops and Airfix cowboy bottoms on Britains or Timpo horses. These conversions were made quite a while ago before Timpo was quite so collectable, although most of them were incomplete or damaged before I 'damaged' them further! Originally they were intended for the Mexican War of the 1840s.
Artistic licence was empoyed for the FFL as most of them are in the uniform for North Africa in about 1900 rather than 1863. The conversions from he Timpo Legionaires are closest to the uniform for the period.
The contra guerillas are in accurate uniform for the foot units, although they used mules or donkeys for faster transport and I have not depicted that.
As mentioned elsewhere, I painted three units o f Mexicans especially for this game, the white formed Juaristas in kepis, the blue coated, red trousered Imperialregiment and the green coated Imperials in havelocks.
There was nor relief force in history although there is one in the game.
