King Richard and Queen Beatrice take a Rural Jaunt

In Redia King Richard and Queen Beatrice take the royal carriage for a rural jaunt. The prime minister Lord Gallstone has made clear that he wishes to end the Royal Jaunts and to reserve the coach and extensive guard for ceremonial occasions. This is in keeping with the policies of the Reform Party, which would also like to eliminate the Royals Reserve Powers, thus reducing them to figureheads only.

It is also rumoured that Lord Gallstone favours independence for some of the colonies.

Prominent journalist, soldier, politician and adventurer, Winston Churchwood has condemned Lord Gallstone as a spoil sport who threatens to tarnish the empire and to reduce it to 'Little Britain'.
Little Britain, of course, is that fictitious country in the satirical novel of the same name by Gulliver Lewis- Blyton. That country, formally known as Great Britain, fell from greatness due to the small mindedness and squeamishness of its pacifist, liberal rulers. Mr Churchwood has already coined the term 'Little Redia' and it is spreading as commentators remark about the depletion of the Redian armed forces.
