Return to the Lost Lands.

As if Princess Alexandra and her Viking vassals had not had enough on their last voyages beyond the world of men and into the land of the mysterious beasts and the supernatural, she has launched another expedition in her thirst for gold, glory and guts. Here is a foretaste of what is to come.

                                          MOVES 1-5 ANT FIGHT and an emerald found          

On crossing through the Sea of Green Mist Princess Alexandra and Red Sonya again find themselves in a mysterious land, this time a tropical one of alternating desert, swamp and jungle. The ship lands on a narrow peninsula with a river close by. Immediately on disembarking the great axemen and some beserkers are set upon by huge ants. The fiendish creatures snap with their huge mandibles.                                      

Suddenly the four beserkers in the expedition foam at the mouth and jump to the fore, feverishly slashing with their swords. The axemen also raise their huge axes but the ants are faster and nip some of the Vikings arms and legs off. The battle rages to the harsh sounds of Viking swearing and a strange rattling sound from the ants. Red Sonya and Princess Alexandra are unable to get close to the battle but eventually the five   enormous ants are killed by the Vikings sharp blades. Four Vikings lay dead.                                  

Undetered, the other Vikings and the two female leaders cross a bridge to examine a giant skull, of rock or bone they are unsure. The skull is perched on some rock ledges littered with skeletons. Red Sonja sees a sparkling green emerald, bigger than her head.  The first treasure is found but Princess Alexandra gazes at a distant flat topped pyramid and imagines even more riches.                                                             

                        

                                                  

Meanwhile the Viking archers see a huge, swollen spider perched in some strangely twisted trees. The six archers shoot their arrow and are gratified to see the horror fall to the ground. Uneasily, they see some tentacles emerging from a fetid pool within the twisted forest.

                                             ALL THINGS CREEPING AND CRAWLING

A giant lizard senses movement and moves to investigate.

Princess Alexandra and Sonya move around some jungle and towards a bridge over the river. towards the lizard.                                                                                                                                                       

After the Viking archers dispatch the larger of the tentacled creatures and the smaller one moves too slowly to reach  the other group of Vikings who bypass it and move towards the distant temples.

                                                 

The Viking leaders and their group try to avoid the lizard after they cross the bridge. Fortunately for them thelizard spies a large planarian which nonchalantly edges towards the lizards gaping maw. A tongue flicks  out and the lizard has its dinner.  Viking is not on the menu this time.                                                                                                                                                                           

For a while the curious lizard follows the adventurers.

                                                       Archers take up defensive positions.

A giant snake awakens from under its rock but heads in the other direction towards the river.

The Vikings have rejoined  and now face the temple pyramid. Suddenly skeleton warriors emerge. The Viking archers shoot and an arrow knocks off a skull, causing the fiendish creature to fall. The other skeletons are saved by their long blue shields.  Then the six skeleton warriors charge the Vikings.                                                                                        

Those of Vikings who had never faced undead before briefly faltered before being steadied by their heroic leaders. The skeletons appeared to fight as one, sword arms raising simultaneously.

The Vikings lightning fast reactions even in the face of such nightmares crunched bones and shattered shields. Soon the skeletons were lying decapitated on the ground.                                                                            
                                      

Meanwhile a giant snake, some distnce away, feeds on a luminous green river creature.

The Vikings split up, one group entering the pyramid where they discover two chests full of gold. Another group head for the 'Big head' monument. A third group, hearing strange mutterings in a grove of cactus form a defensive line, The archers take position at the edge of the hill.                                                       

                                         Hideously deformed mutants suddenly charge the Vikings.

Other Vikings who were carrying treasure towards their distant ship were set upon by a huge preying mantis. The Vikings cut off its triangular head before it can dine on its prey.

More ants emerge from a ruin.

A swamp snake slivers through the Big Head swamp.

                                                The giant snake moves closer to the Vikings.

The Vikings find the mutants to be very strong and furious in their attacks. The creatures absorb wounds that would down a man. The Vikings begin to sustain casualties.

Princess Alexandra falls under a whirlwind of venomous fangs and claws. Lord Hagar fights to buy time for the Vikings who drag her to safety.

Other Vikings pass the scene of earlier carnage with the giant ants and wade through the shallows take treasure to the ship.

Orcs advance in the centre as Viking archers withdraw and fire. An ogre also crosses the swamp.

              Red Sonya and her band emerge from the swamp of the Big head with more treasure.

                                     A blue many armed female being emerges from another pyramid.

The orcs finally catch the Viking archers but the latter are saved by Red Sonya whose band charges into the back of the orcs.

 The Vikings kill tha rampaging ogre but are then attacked by the blue she-devil, Her many sword weilding arms are a blur of movement. The Vikings, although outnumbering her, struggle to defend themselves. All of the band, including Lord Hagar, fall after only managing to wound her.

                                               The Viking archers head to the ship.

 The giant snake join with the lizard in the attack on a Viking. The chameleon then drove off the snake to dine on its meal.

 The chameleon then sought new food and again had the company of the monster snake in attacking the, so recently victorious blue she devil. Even her swirling blades could not defeat the colossal beasts.

Then the beasts turned on each other. At first evenly matched, the snake wrapped itself around the chameleon and crushed it as it sank its fangs into the lizards leg. The poison took effect and the snake,
