Female Trouble in Redia or The adventures of Penelope Picton

Constable Jones intercepts Miss Picton to prevent an incident.

Miss Picton is most vocal in her protest.

'Now Miss, why don't you go home and have a nice cup of tea. There's the good lady.'

Miss Picton suddenly advances on the constable with her sign raised threateningly.

In the interests of decency the scenes of violence which followed will not be shown.

Redia has been struck by the increasingly violent attacks from the Suffragette movement. As Winston Churchwood put it, foolishly they seek the vote when they could let their husbands represent them with their own voting, after all, would they not vote the same as their husbands?

One of the foremost suffragettes, is Penelope Picton, who Mr Churchwood has repeatedly mis-named Penelope Prickle. It is not known if he has confused her name with Prue Prickle, the notorious seventeenth century witch.

In any case Miss Picton has created a stir with her antics. Some have praised her for her heroic defence of women's right to vote but others have condemned her as a dangerous fanatic.

Above are pictures of her recent protest outside the palace itself:

  2. Thanks Scott, I just uploaded some more pics after another go. It is true that I am no great photographer but after pressing macro I got slightly better pics. One day I'll get a better camera for close ups.

  3. The beauty of digital cameras is that you can be a caveman and get passable pictures. What a great invention! I know a professional ship model builder here on Cape Ann who still insists on film cameras to photograph his work. I still need to figure out lighting. Maybe an outdoor table in the summer.
    Thanks for posting you figures!
