Gerolstein Blaxter Machine gun

The gunners are made from Cresent guardsmen. In the background is a Gerolstein guardsman. The guns are manned by the Gerolstein artillerymen. The machine gun is named after its inventor Col Blaxter. The artillery played a key role in the Battle of Vallerstein River when the artillery commander, Colonel Hans Powstein ordered his men to load the cannons with cannister and fired point blank in to the charging Ruritanian cavalry. His position was over-run and the colonel sabred through but the Ruritanians were so decimated that they withdrew across the river.  In honour of  the artillery action the Duchess has allowed them to wear the bearskin, normally reserved for grenadiers.

The influence of both Blusia and Redia are evident in the cut of the uniforms.
