New knights from Hong Kong

I like to see new cheapo figures from China as they are full of surprises. The latest lot I bought from E-bay. They were very cheap, with free postage. I particularly liked the horses as they seemed full of life. Unfortunately after receiving them I realized that they really are puny.

The human figures themselves are on the small side of 1/32, edging to 1/35. Some of the foot figures have small pointy heads but one of the nicer ones has a slightly roman looking helmet.

The most weird interpretation of a medieval weapon has to be the foot figure with a lance-axe combo! The riders that have lances would have trouble reaching the enemy with them but maybe that is why the horses are small - less far to reach. They will look okay with lances replaced with DSG weapons.

The armor for all figures is full plate. That includes the archers, which is unusual but not impossible. The helmets are often spiked, which gives them an Eastern look, although other details match Western Europe. The bows look like short bows and I might replace them with wire long bows. There are also mounted bowmen, again with short bows and full plate armor. You could replace these with the Asiatic compound bows by bending wire to shape as i did with conversions of American indians into light mongols. You could then paint them as Eastern bowmen.
In any case my figures are going to be recruits for Beerstein, which needs more mounted knights and archers but I am going to use bigger replacement horses and replace some heads or build up the helmets with putty.
