The Battle For The Tower

The outcome of this battle was a foregone conclusion. A force of 15 heavy Bogavanian archers and four crossbowmen were guarding the construction of a tower on the Emerald Sea Coast. This North Western region had been given to Bogavania by Beerstein in a territorial exchange but Long Shanks never intended to release control.

The Bogavanians are just bak from the tower construction site and steadily await their fate.
Long Shanks has placed his archers to the front as he does not want his knights depleted this early in the campaign. The knights mutter and their horses chaff at the bit but are blocked from any impetuous charge by the Beersteiner archers in front.

A sea serpent views the contest with passing interest.
The Bogavanian archers cause nearly as many fatalities among the opposing larger force of heavy archers until they falter and leave the rest to the light archers who have sneaked into the construction site and let loose a volley at close range, finishing off the brave defenders. The mounted knights have moved into the gap and attempt to run down the remaining fleeing crossbowmen but they have already gained enough ground to escape South, perhaps to join another larger force.

The Beersteiners have possession of the field and are able to tend to the wounded, enabling them to recover half of their casualties.
