Ruritanian 4th Infantry New Recruits
The Ruritanian 4th Infantry after a long period of garrison duty in South Lionia has suffered a number of losses from malaria. The new anti-malaria drug finally arrived as have new local recruits. Adventurers and White hunters have enlisted. Most of these have lived in Africa for a large portion of their lives. Their countries of origin are mainly Hermany and Ruritania.
The new recruits have brought their own weapons but have begun to use some army equipment. The Ruritanian military has tolerated their carrying of pistols as well as rifles; although at least two of them - Snotburger, and Frederick Von Popper - once served as officers in the Ruritanian army they have no such status in their present positions. As yet no uniforms are available but truth be known these rugged individualists prefer it that way, although one volunteer. Hans Snotburger, has donned a light blue hat band and double headed eagle badge. (Actually, he will be very influential in later changes to Ruritanian tropical uniform).
PS Private Heinrich Shultz can be seen wearing his regulation slouch hat counter to regimental regulations; he wears it turned up on the right side intead of the left side. He has been placed on half rations for the day.
