Battle Of The Two Forests Again - Pigs To You. - Roman victory

Mat and I played our previous game again with a change of sides so that I was this time the Roman general.
I left my left flank as a weaker holding action and concentrated more forces on the right flank. My two elephants were also sent there along with my chariots. The last were overwhelmed by an attack of his archers and the elephants did some damage before being driven back by flaming pigs!

My left flank eventually collapsed although on the right flanki eventually triumphed but only after his elite 'Super Romans' destroyed a cavalry unit and an archers unit. Ten there was just his notoriously inaccurate catapult and a couple of pig handlers. However, a column of three Roman infantry units were on the way from my defeated left flank. At this point the game ended. We went for our usual 12 moves plus rolling to continue the game so it went for about 15 moves.

Victory conditions were as for previously, a war of attrition and Mat won by about two units.

A sleeping pigs has no conception of the grim fate which awaits it.
Initial stand off between light Carthaginian cavalry and teo Roman units, Numidian allied lights and heavy infantry.
A Carthaginian trap fails as the Roman unit and a follow up one plow into the Catrhaginians.

Meanwhile the Carthaginian war elephants are about to be driven back by burning pigs!
Two on to one. The gallant Roman cavalry hold on to the last man.
Romans win this melee by a narrow margin but enough for the Carthaginians to lose their morale roll.
                                                               The ineffectual catapult.
                                                                       Celts driven back.
Formidable 'super Romans' in the distance.
                                                    Last stand of some Carthaginians.
