Here are some more orcs and the monster mounts painted.

The Viking 'Devil Bird' Rider swoops down to challenge the orcs to battle.

The Orc, 'Big Toof' rider accepts the challenge.
                                                    Crossbow orcs, very cross indeed

                                                                   Orc 'Battle bones'

The female Viking was scalped and a Cherilea repro helmet added although a wing broke and had to be rebuilt from putty. Her arm had a chunk cut out near arm pit and was bent in boiling water then ice cold water. This was insufficient so I also pinned it through the shield with brass wire. The shield was a little more buckled in the process. Next time I'll ad a new shield and a new head for the woman. The 'Devil Bird' (yes not a real bird) rider has both mouth reigns and nose reigns for extra control of her beast. Her fur saddle (from putty) is yet to be painted. The figures are still to be varnished and based although the 'Big Toof' will remain unbased so he can traverse hills easier.

The 'Devil Bird' will have a base added under the plastic wine glass. I picked up a few of these blue tinted glasses at an op shop and they make splendid bases for airborne stuff. They can be used upside down with base removed or with base left and vessel removed although this leaves a lower position for flight or it would be good for hovering close to the ground. The bases easily pulled off.

This project was a lot of fun and I'll be making more beast riders of various sorts.
