First Simbas Painted

After some uncertainty as to what colours to paint the headdresses of the Simbas I settled on a dull colour with patches of colour from feathers.  Some of the black and white photos might also have included palm fronds.

Anyhow, these figures are intended to represent the more traditional looking Simbas with modern items, including blue suede shoes! The footwear ranged from no footwear to various civilian and military footwear.

The bows will be painted brown and bases made later.

I have quite a few more to convert yet and presently I'm concentrating on the bare chested ones. Others will look less exotic. The officer will have peaked cap and leopard skin band around it and red star. These figures are all made from American Indians.
