Fantasy Campaign POWS and Guards

Like Mark at Man of Tin I enjoy converting cheap plastic figures and making them into something entirely different.

I often make figures to fill gaps in my wargames and the following are for my current fantasy, vaguely Renaissance campaign.

BELLOW:

Cowboys, a wounded ACW and Texans converted into Fezians (pseudo Ottomans). All weapons and most equipment were removed and putty turbans added. Most jackets or vests were extended with paper tape and putty. Also seen are two cheapo modern infantry in process of conversion into guards.

The Indians will be Aztec or Ebon (Zulu) captives

                                                          Unconverted modern infantry
Paper tape belts and putty charge holders are added and strengthened with Super Glue. Long hair has been added and caps slightly modified. The bottoms of the trouser legs are trimmed to be painted as socks and shoes. Firearms are removed and one is replaced with a club but the other has a new firearm from wire and putty after hands were hollowed out and right hand slightly repositioned using a blade and putty. These soldiers are based on English Civil War soldiers.
The left hand figure has a spare Timpo musket which came with their Arabs. The other has a DSG shield with putty hub. Obviously these two have been scavenging around the battlefield and taking souvenirs from prisoners.

Much as I like A Call to Arms ECW I think my conversions are more interesting! The figure with shiled has looted a Fezian but he could just as easily be a historical figure who has obtained a Highlander shield. I'll post more picks when these are painted.
