More Pics From Battle Of The Ironclad

I don't know if cannons actually fired from trains but this one did. In the end Mat had two left and then just this one until the crew was gunned down.

General West and his staff officer inspect the tracks.
A strong Federal position on the Union left.
Federal Indians - in the forest, of course.

Confederates in the town of Jubali
Confederate troops hold position. Their casualties became heavy but this did mean they left it to the Yanks to claim quarters of the field.

CSA supply wagons move up, which is just as well as the artillery were close to runninggout of ammo.

"This neat plastic was put here just for me!"
"Hmm, those little brown things look like I could play with them"

Federal zouaves and Rhode Island troops hang on on the Federal right flank, but not for long.

The CSA horse artillery was deadly.
Massed CSA cavalry including the 33rd Texas Hispanic join Shelby's raiders.

                                                                    Quantrill's Raiders

Quantrill's men deploy in a single line to optimize their pistol shooting.

One thing about most of my games is I include regiments that never met each other in combat. SO I doubt if Quantrill's men encountered Zouaves or the Rhode Island regiment. The 33rd Texas was employed in guarding the CSA cotton from federal raiders wo used Mexico as a base. As far as I know it was not fighting alongside Quantrill's Raiders which mainly operated in Missouri and Kansas.
