Barsoom Flyer

    I wanted a Martian flyer for my next wargame. Edgar Rice Burroughs descriptions of the Barsoom flyers makes them sound a lot like sailing ships but with the addition of 'buoyancy tanks'. They are powered by some unknown substance.

So I used a pirate ship plus parts of an incomplete Batman plane kit. The buoyancy tanks are made from yogurt drink plastic containers with Kinder egg shell addition to the front and the lids from liquid squeeze tube babies food satchels for the rear.

I gave the ship a spray of black and might add further detailed painting later. I can't say it looks especially aerodynamic but it looks suitably Barsoomy.
