Repairs To Old Made In England Plastic Figures And A Warning About Card Readers.

I got my two card readers checked out and they were faulty despite my having one for only a couple of months and the other maybe four months. When I bought these plastic readers I was very happy to pick them up for less than ten dollars each from the cheap shop. I think I am seeing a trend of Chinese cheap crapolla as I recently bought some wire cutters for three dollars from the craft section of a second cheap shop and they broke the first time I tried to use them! Any how I am now using the $29 card reader I bought at the computer shop a while back (I had more than one because I kept misplacing them and buying replacements). I also bought, today, a $100 one which also allows me to use the TV screen from my computer.

BELOW:

First up there is a Hilco metal American Indian. I added a loin cloth and made the broken rifle into a burning brand. The other Indian is a very nice Crescent one. His Winchester was lacking a barrel end. I added a wire one but it is now just a carbine. I'll find him a horse later.

The WW1 Tommy in gasmask was suffering from brittle plastic syndrome. I have doubts as to whether it was worth it but because he is an interesting figure I repaired him with wire and putty. I am not sure of the brand. is it Marx? The cowboy is Hilco and his lasso was broken. Wire and putty replaced it.

I'll paint these figures in a few days time. My Michael Caine figure will also be finished soon.
