Undead Again Defeated By Chaos

               Mat and I switched roles for this game so that I commanded the Undead.

The armies were the same units. Criteria for victory was possession of table quarters.

Mat won the dice rolls for who would set up first and for first move.

I concentrated my hardest hitters (three vampires attached to units) in the center.
Mat placed his Bloodletters opposite my skeleton archers, zombies and necromancer. The archers didn't stand much of a chance, not helped when the necromancer suffered a miss-spell which killed himself and almost all the unit he was attached to. However, the zombies did use their magic on the bloodletters so that some were hypnotized and unable to participate in melee. 

Next to that battle the Demon prince edged forward and did battle with a skeleton spider, ridden triceratops later, a bone giant. His protective Flaming Cloak caused wounds even before the two traded blows. The Demon Prince killed both.

                                          Towards the end of the battle the Chaos mutants and the hero, Bonetaker, began to defeat the zombies.

                        Towards the end Chaos trolls entered an existing melee and destroyed my skeleton cavalry but my vampire lord survived.

                                                Mutants saw off my giant skeleton spider.

                                          The Demon Prince heads towards the central battle.

                                             The trolls were deadly against my Grave Guard,

                                  The remnants of the Bloodletters head towards the central battle.

    The ethereal spirits were initially successful until Skulltaker attacked them with his magic weapon.

       Earlier in the battle the Chaos Knights killed off a skeleton column and vampire.

  The Chaos manticore's rider was killed and then the manticore itself, as the Vampire Lord's blood rage destroyed them.

         Chaos Hillmen columns were driven back by skeleton columns with vampire.

                                 An unidentified huge black beast remained neutral in the battle.

                                     Mostly; it knocked some of these skeletons off the table! Even so that gap was, this time, designated crossable land).

Near the close of battle the Vampire Lord killed the Demon Prince. however, the Undead were now outnumbered and dominated no table quarters. The Undead had done better than the last battle but were defeated.

Ou next game, most likely next week, will include some new characters and monsters with the Undead somewhat more powerful.
