EVENTS OF MAP MOVE 6

Following this Patran victory Fezia was prepared for peace. The only way for a sure peace was the abandonment of the castle in Hex 13 and surrender of land in H187 (adjoining the Fezian capital). This had been occupied by Pharaoh and his forces. Fezia was aware that it needed its forces in the West to meet any Beerstein threat. Beerstein POWs would be returned (not many because of the common Patran practice of executing POWs.

Meanwhile king James of Beerstein was marshalling forces to attack the occupied Castle Delton in H 141. The Fritzerland forces there were strong and supplied but they were isolated. Beerstein also occupied some Fritz border land in H 180. The peace agreement called for a return to the status-quo and return of Fritz POWs.

Following these treaties it did not take long for Beerstein to declare war on Bogavania and Fezia. King James heard reports of Bogavanian liveries among Fritz forces. As for Fezia he needed little excuse to attack the infidels. In fact, his crusaders and clergy were urging him to do so. Besides, he believed that Fezia had been weakened by its recent war with Patra. In addition, he was still raging about an earlier incursion of Bogavanians onto his territory.

MECHANISMS

Mat and I drew up a list of alternatives for peace treaties and the percentage chance that agreement would be made. We then rolled a percentage dice to confirm the option chosen. We also rolled a dice for war to breakout between our own countries. This has happened. If it had not we would have rolled a dice to see how many years they were at peace or if any other military events occurred on New Earth.

There are left at least six map moves of the campaign season. At the end of map move 12 we will roll a dice to see if it continues (just as we do for battles on the tabletop).

Also, at the end of move eight we will roll on the special events list. The result can be small or Earth shattering. The roll at the end of move four brought a new unit of pike to Beerstein.

IMPLICATIONS

The Patrans encourage science and although they were a pre-gunpowder society that is no longer the case. They have four captured cannons. it will not be long before they learn how to use these new weapons. Already they had adapted to use of stirrups for their cavalry.

The Patrans have also somewhat increased their revenue sources.

For Fritzerland honor has been served and the border is back as it was.
