The Patran Threat To Fezia Dissipates

BELOW: The founders of Patra, Mark Anthony and Cleopatra. Cleopatra had insisted that their dynasty would be in her family name. The manuscripts were drawn up when Anthony was in a drunken stupor. But Cleopatra had always managed to twirl him round her dainty finger.

For the second time in the current campaign Patra, as a third force, has threatened Fezia's Eastern border.

Previously Patra had invaded and attacked Fezia, capturing a frontier castle and land south of and close to the Fezian capital. An agreement had been made between Fezia and Patra, allowing Patra to keep its conquests.

Now Patra invades two border areas. Pharaoh Akton Ptolemy was not one to keep a promise, if treachery would advance his plans.

The Fezians had sent a delegation already, for repatriation of Fezian POWs. Surprisingly, Akton agreed to retain some worthless desert land and to withdraw from the other land it had raided. Fezia could thus continue its war against Beerstein.

The real reason for Patra's quick acceptance of the terms might have something to do with a source of flammable material for use in its 'Greek Fire' and also, the rumored existence of a large and sacred monument in the desert.
