Southern Cross Train Station Waiting Room

I posted this here when it belongs on my art blog, Joc's Cartoons, but I'll leave it here, now.

After hitching, over two days, from Adelaide to Melbourne I ended up at Southern Cross station waiting room. What a great place it was for sketching people!

My gel pen ran out, so I used pencil and then disposable calligraphy pen.

Below: The figure at right entered and left the room three times. He looked agitated and also homeless. He then entered the adjoining prayer room where he prayed loudly, in his own language, for all to hear. My imagination was doing acrobatics. Maybe this was not a good sign, time to get far away, but heck, I was too much enjoying drawing people. this picture has a pink tint added on the computer.

                 This last picture was very quick as my train was arriving in 15 minutes.

    A blue tint was added to this one. Obviously, the chair designs and sign are meant to deter homeless people moving into the passenger waiting room. This was an irony to see a couple of people laying on the carpet. The sign was not actually that big or over the prone person. Call it artistic license. 

   I think the man was aware that I might have been drawing him. He also looked, nervously, at the agitated prayer man. The old lady appeared oblivious of everything.
