Highlanders - Ladies From Hell

'Ladies from Hell' is what the Germans called the Highlander soldiers in WW1. It is thus slightly anachronistic for me to so refer to Jacobin Highlanders but it was too good a title to ignore. Maybe 'Laddies from Hell' would be more acceptable.

First up is a rival, an English grenadier. This is my resin copy of a Marx figure. )I just realized I did not finish the mitre cap design). The Scot is an unidentified metal figure.

Below is a in-up of Highlanders, the nucleus of a Highlander regiment.

Left to right: The first and third figures are virtually my own creations. They are resin copies of the second figure. The issue was the right arm did not come out in the first figure. The legs did not come out in the first and third figures. The missing limbs were made from wire and putty, except that the third figure has a pirate's right arm (from a tube of pirates and skeleton warriors). The only thing is the legs are somewhat larger than the originals. Oh well, they are bonny muckle legs. I also added the tartan over the shoulders. The second figure, named 'Publius' under his base, is metal and was originally a Viking! The shield reminds me of a Scottish one, so he was given the putty bonnet. I left the cuirass even though, as far as I know, they were used by neither Jacobin Highlanders nor Vikings.

The fourth Cherilea repro figure I painted quite a few years ago and I believe he is meant to be Bonnie prince Charlie. The fifth figure is also a Cherilea repro figure.

I have a bag of Cherilea repro Highlanders enough to make one or two regiments. The above figures are the nucleus.

It is likely that my Highlander units will eventually appear in my fantasy world of imagi-nations.
