Chechucoppa, The Aztec Capital, Remains Untouched As Two Campaigns End

CAMPAIGN EXPLANATION
This campaign ended on Map Move 14. In reality it was two simultaneous unlinked campaigns except for happening in the same time frame. I controlled Beerstein and Aztecia. Mat controlled the Bogavanian/Fezian alliance and Necrolia. However, Aztecia was not allied to Beerstein and Necrolia was not allied to Bogavania/Fezia. I decided that it would have become too complicated, but it certainly would have added another layer if they had been allied. However, there were also only two players. Taking over one's opponent's new enemy did work, though. What was different to the previous campaign was that Beerstein was not fighting Bogavania/Fezia. Another possibility would have been to say the campaigns could have ended early and hostilities resumed between the traditional enemies. something we did in another campaign.

THE NECROLIAN FRONT

The Necorolians, despite invading Beerstein, failed to win any battles. A few things were in the Beersteiners' favor; they had artillery and rows of muskets whilst also investing in both wizards and priests. The latter blocked some of the Necrolians black magic and the wizards gave as good as they got from the enemy necromancers.
Beerstein forces were sent into Necrolian territory to occupy two villages. The Necrolians were short of forces and their supply wagons largely captured and destroyed by roving Beersteiner cavalry. Consequently, at this stage no opposition was given.

THE AZTEC FRONT
The Aztecs did quite well, especially with their dinosaurs. However, they lacked artillery and firearms. They had withdrawn from their earlier invasion of Northern Aztecia (Fezian territory). Then the Aztecs drove back enemy forces from Aztecia proper. When the war again turned with the Serpent Temple battle the Aztecs withdrew to the capital, Chechucoppa.

The Bogavanians and Fezians had finally penetrated deeply into Aztec territory. However, instead of attacking the capital they skirted around it and supplies were low.

Having shown their might to the Aztecs they withdrew but Bogavania held on to some coastal border territory.

Bogavainian had long since been reduced to a rump state and client of Fezia. The latter had wisely avoided trying to impose their Moon religion on the Bogavanains and so far the alliance has held.

 CONCLUSION

Supplies had begun to run out for all armies so ending the campaign was a necessity. (In reality the remaining turns were decided randomly by dice roll).

If two units of soldiers have been in enemy territory for two moves and are still there uncontested at the end of the game that land can be claimed. realistically, the land must be adjoining one's own land or accessible by sea.

VICTORS & LOSERS

Victors: Beerstein and Fezia/Beerstein

Losers: Necrolia and Aztecia (third countries)

However, the losing nations just lost some small territory and were not completely destroyed.

It is also the case that both players were both winners and losers!

THE AZTEC CAPITAL

This was a hodgepodge made from Barzo and polystyrene. The big head is modelled on a Maya one and I made it from clay. In any event Mat elected not to attack Chechucoppa so it is just for the cameras!

THE FUTURE

Next game will be a Funny Little Wars one between Blusia and Ameriga circa 1900.

A new fantasy campaign will also occur when I organize it. What I need to do is extend my map to create islands and other lands for a colonial conquest. The 'natives' will be at random levels of technology and culture and although it is intended that Fezia/Bogavanaia and Beerstein will still be at peace there will be the possibility of war breaking out over new lands.

Usually we roll a percentage dice to determine how many years have passed before the next campaign but this time we used only a 20 sided die as I want to keep using 18th to early 19th century troops for a while. We determined that 10 years have passed. We will have to determine if any of our characters have died from mishap, illness or old age.
