The Air Arm & Coming Projects
Another wargame is set for next Friday, possibly outside again and another battle between 1900 era Ameriga and Blusia. I might use the converted Wright Brothers plane for the Amerigan forces and a surprise flying machine for the Blusians. That latter one will be called the Jules Verne. Both craft will come on from reserve.
I am liable to be very busy over the next few weeks. I am intending to make some kitchen shelving for spices and what not, from old record player speakers and have some other domestic stuff to do.
Also, I might do a spot of camping at Phillip Island.
In addition, I am repainting a unit of Hilco marching ACW so that they can be also used as French/Blusians or Chileans and Argentinians of the Pacific War. They could even double as 19th century Japanese. I am also painting more armies in Plastic Chinese Boxers. One of the mystery islands in my next fantasy campaign may have the equivalent of 19th century Chinese.
My future wargame projects after the Friday one will be a Duchy of Grand Fenwick versus 1900 era Fezia (pseudo-Turkey). Grand Fenwick will have British guardsmen (as Fenwick ones), Gatling guns and longbows but possibly a smaller army. The units armed with bows will have some kind of stealth capacity to infiltrate. I liked how in the story, The Mouse That Roared the archers, commanded by Peter Sellers, shot out the rubber tyers on American motor vehicles. Using the Funny Little Wars list for 'Army Khaki' the Fezians fight best on the defensive and less well on the offensive so I'll have to determine who is invading who.
Then I plan to play a Wizard of Ozz game, which will have a very entertaining mix of figures from Napoleonic to skeleton warriors and a lot of little guys.
The other big thing I have to do is to pack two ACW armies to take, at the end of the month, to my swap-meet venue in Sandringham, Melbourne. I also will be packing my swaps, including a lot of Timpo swoppets. I have already booked a delivery there of trestle tables for the March 1 swapmeet and the march 2 wargame. The woman renting the tables to me wants to deliver them two days before the event and at no extra charge, so that gives plenty of time to set them up! It is also going to be a hot weekend so I must pack my slouch hat! The tables will be mostly under cover, though.
