Special Skills Characters For Campaigns

Here is an idea for campaigns. Mat and I already have 'Heroes, Priests, Wizards and Generals so what about other useful occupations? I mean there must be some usefulness for having lawyers, librarians, accountants and so on.
Anyhow, I have settled for Treasurers, Spies, Security police, Inventors and Jokers.
Players can either decide these can be bought with points with limits to numbers set or, as I plan to do, they will be rolled for on a D6 at the start of the campaign. This can be one D6 roll or several. (Of course, if one side has security police but the other side has no spies they won't be of much use).
As we leave the medieval era I wondered if we should continue to have wizards and other medieval-looking types, like jokers. But then it is fantasy, so why not? and using ruses can happen in any era. Also, futuristic Warhammer 4K has 'Psykers'.
