This Is 'Anonymous' Speaking & Upcoming STUFF.

For some time now I have found that I cannot comment on blogs, INCLUDING MY OWN, when I reply to others' comments without being 'anonymous'. Some of other people's blogs I can't comment on at all; I am just told to log in to Google; I thought I had already done that.

Anyhow, some genius out there might be able to tell me how to change things. At present I have to 'approve' my own comments on my own posts! I am feeling a little Schizophrenic.

Now, as to my next projects. I just undercoated my 'dwarf'' artillery crew. I'll be painting them over the next few days. I also have various of my resin castings I'll be painting soon. It is deeply satisfying to make something like that, especially when I have greatly converted them from the original.

As for wargames. Mat and I will be doing a re-run of the Fezian invasion of Grand Fenwick. That will just be a matter of setting up the figures with the same terrain on the same table. Hopefully it will occur sometime next week.

I did promise an Ozzz game, but I am going to delay it and do a few more Funny Little Wars games first.

I was re-reading Paul Wight's Funny Little Wars book and was taken by some rules for spies and arial surveillance. I have a Doctor Doolittle figure (that I am also making resin copies of). Someone suggested that he was a cale decoration. I'll show case him in a future post. I have decided that the parrot on his arm is a 'homing parrot'. The resin copy I made failed to produce the parrot so the other one will have a spare cake decoration genuine plastic pigeon (of which I have a bunch that I bought from a cake shop long ago).

So, the game after our coming game will, hopefully be outside. The armies will be pseudo-Japan versus pseudo-Britain Redia). Both sides will have spies with little winged messengers and one side will have a balloon and the other a plane. The game will be outside and done the length of the yard with cards for hidden movement; some will be blank and others will be troops.  Planes, balloons and spies may reveal snippets of information about the advancing enemy.

The other thing is I am excited that Paul has published another book, this one called Garden Wargames. I'll be getting a copy soon. Thanks Paul. This will be added to my three existing books by Paul. These include the earlier and also the later, somewhat amended, more compact version of Funny Little Wars - I have two copies of the first version, very dog eared - and also his Campaign Wargames.

At some point I'll do some posts about these great books and also about wargame rules, in general. I am actually very eclectic in my use of rules as I use everything from Warhammer to Featherstone and FLW. Paul Wright's rules are in the spirit of HG Wells but with added levels of detail and sophistication. Frank Perry was also influenced, in his rules, by Wells.

  1. I've experienced similar problems with commenting as you. I've found out it makes a difference in what browser you sign in to your Google account. For example Samsung Internet Browser would only allow me to comment as 'anonymous' or not at all (depends on the comment settings in the blog you tries to comment in), but Google Chrome gives full access.

  2. Maybe I'll change to Chrome.
